Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has lauded Sir Alex Ferguson for the legacy he has behind him at the club.

Former manager Ferguson has been ever-present at United games this season and looks to have built a great relationship with Ten Hag.

The two men were pictured deep in conversation over dinner at Wilmslow restaurant Cibo before United’s play-off second leg against Barcelona on Thursday night.

Asked what the best message Ferguson has given him, Ten Hag said it wasn’t just one piece of advice, but the ‘winning culture’ the Scotsman left behind.

The Dutchman told Sky Sports: ‘He is by doing (not words). I think he left a legacy and that is Manchester United stands for winning and a winning culture.
