Another of Liverpool’s midfield transfer targets has no interest in joining them.

Liverpool are eager to strengthen in midfield after Fabinho left for Al-Ittihad and Jordan Henderson signed for Al-Ettifaq.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have reportedly agreed a £60million deal to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton. However, they still face competition from Chelsea for the talented youngster.

The Reds made an offer of £111million for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, but he now looks set to join Chelsea for £115million.

As reported by The Athletic, there is further bad news for Liverpool as Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has no intention of joining them.

Liverpool are one of a number of clubs that are interested in Tchouameni but Real see him as a key player and will not consider selling the 23-year-old.

Tchouameni has 25 caps for France and featured at the World Cup in Qatar last year.

He signed for Real from Monaco in 2022 and has made 51 appearances for the Spanish side.

Tchouameni played the whole game as Real started their LaLiga campaign with a 2-0 victory away to Athletic Bilbao.
