Hugh Grant arrives at High Court ahead of Prince Harry’s privacy trial against NGN
Prince Harry’s lawyers have been accused of “hijacking” the case over the fresh claims that a secret agreement between the royal family and News Group Newspapers kept him from bringing his case forward earlier.
The Duke said in a witness statement that he was not aware of the alleged secret deal until 2012 prompting the judge to flag “factual inconsistencies” in Prince Harry’s original claim that he did not know about phone hacking against him until 2019.
They have now been ordered to make a formal application to amend the original claim before being able to use it in their arguments in court.
“We do not believe the application has a reasonable chance of success,” Mr Hudson told Mr Justice Fancourt in objection for the amendment.
It comes as Hugh Grant arrived at court for Prince Harry’s alleged phone-hacking case against Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers.
The actor will not give evidence at the hearing and is attending to watch the proceedings,
