World Cup Final referee Szymon Marciniak has been appointed to take charge of the Champions League final, while Anthony Taylor will officiate this year’s Europa League showpiece.

The 42-year-old Pole will take charge of the clash between Manchester City and Inter in Istanbul on 10 June, and will be assisted by countrymen Pawel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz.

Marciniak is no stranger to the big occasion having officiated the World Cup Final between France and Argentina last December, but this will be the first time he’s been given the Champions League’s final game.

It will be the second successive time he’ll be taking charge of Manchester City in the competition, having been referee for the side’s 4-0 semi-final second leg win over Real Madrid earlier this month.

One of eight Champions League games that Marciniak has been in charge of this season.

Taylor, will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn as well as Michael Oliver as the fourth official. There will also be an-all English VAR assistance too, with Stuart Atwell and Christopher Kavanagh.
